LAMPASAS — Responding to the growing need for additional health care in Lampasas, plans are underway for a new 12,000-square-foot Family Medical Clinic on west U.S. Highway 190, between Oil States Industries and the Lampasas Veterinary Clinic.
Family Medical Clinic has served the Lampasas community for more than 75 years and has a location in Copperas Cove.
“We believe that Lampasas will see tremendous growth in the future, and we want to be part of this growth,” Dr. Mark Lane said. “Our new office will permit us to grow with the community and greatly improve the efficiency of the care we provide to our patients.”
Ground will be broken soon on the project, headed up by RKJ Construction Company of Lampasas.
When construction is completed in about nine months, the clinic’s current location on Avenue E will be converted into a medical and surgical specialty clinic, officials announced last week.
“Lampasas has great needs here,” Dr. James Cain said. “Our aim is to help Rollins Brook hospital serve more patients in Lampasas County by expanding its diagnostic and surgery services.”
The clinic currently operates with 29 staff members, including five family practice physicians and four mid-level providers.
Plans are to add four more physicians and professional staff members in the next two years.
