BELTON — A Nolanville man is facing two felony charges after police said they found methamphetamine and several guns in his home.

Walter Scott Morris, 39, was indicted by a Bell County grand jury Wednesday on a charge of possession of methamphetamine, 4 grams or more, as well as a charge of unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon. Morris was arrested Feb. 7 after officers from the Bell County Organized Crime Unit served a search warrant on his home on East Birch Road in Nolanville.

According to an arrest affidavit, officers found about 30 grams of a substance that later tested positive for the presumptive presence of methamphetamine in the home.

In addition to the suspected drugs, the affidavit stated the officers also found “several” firearms in the home.

The Bell County District Attorney’s office said five guns were recovered, but declined to specify what kind of guns they were.

Morris was convicted of aggravated robbery in Bell County in 2001, and sentenced to 16 years in prison, the affidavit stated.

Because of his previous conviction, Morris could face a harsher jail sentence if he is found guilty.

Morris is in custody in Bell County Jail, and his total bail for both charges is set at $250,000.

The grand jury also indicted the following individuals Wednesday:

  • Donchae Antonio Smith, 27, of Killeen, on a charge of burglary of a habitation.
  • Castro Oren Skinner, on a charge of forgery.
  • Ronnie Lee Tanner Jr., 18, of Killeen, on a charge of evading arrest with a motor vehicle.
