Four-year-old Kayne Tucker (left) and his mother Erin.

A Copperas Cove parent is lauding a Killeen police officer who helped save the life of her young son while off duty.

Erin Tucker said the officer, Givon Emeana, performed CPR on her 4-year-old son after he was pulled unresponsive from a swimming pool at their Copperas Cove home Saturday.

Emeana who lives across the street from Tucker, continued with the CPR until paramedics arrived on scene.
"Just to have him react the way he did, it was amazing," Tucker said. "Sometimes police don't always get the best publicity, but I want people to know that they really do care."
Tucker said her son Kayne fully recovered from the incident.
