COPPERAS COVE — Active-duty soldiers, family members and veterans from multiple eras lined up with plates in hand to get some of the pancakes provided by H-E-B on Friday morning in honor of Veterans Day.

More than 50 military members and their families were treated to pancakes, sausage, fruit, orange juice and coffee.

Liz Sherman volunteered to fill plates as hungry customers came through the line.

“It was an honor to serve the veterans breakfast. As a military spouse, I know the sacrifices that need to be made when a you are called away from your family,” said Sherman, who works with the Copperas Cove Chamber of Commerce. “We also have a great relationship with our H-E-B and anytime we have an opportunity to help H-E-B support our community, they can count us in.”
