A SWAT team was called to a Harker Heights residence early this morning, according to police.

Officers from the Harker Heights Police Department were initially called to a home on Valley Oaks Drive just after 2 a.m. in response to a reported domestic dispute.

The SWAT team was notified when the man and woman inside the residence failed to respond to officer's attempts to contact them, Department officials said.

Eventually, the woman was extracted from the residence safely. The man involved in the incident remained in the home until just after 6 a.m.

The male was not arrested, police said, because he did not pose a threat to himself or others.
