Close family members are shedding more light on the death of Warren Keaton Cook III, 20, the Killeen man who was struck and killed by a vehicle Christmas day.
Kasandra Lynn Hedgewood, one of Cook's sisters, described her brother as a "sweet" and "humble" man, who was taking care of his mother, a former teacher at Rancier Middle School.
"He was very quiet, but the way he loved us was so loud," Hedgewood said.
Cook was killed Wednesday afternoon after he was hit by a silver Ford Mustang that was traveling in the outside lane of U.S. Highway 190 East in Killeen. Witnesses said Cook was standing on the side of the road and then ran in front of the car, according to police.
Earlier today, Hedgewood, who lives in Charlotte, NC, said the family did not know why Cook ran into traffic. They do not blame the driver of the Mustang for Cook's death, she said.
Funeral services for Cook are pending.
