Two men are behind bars after allegedly leading police on a chase through the streets of Killeen earlier this week.

Kevin Antwan Campbell, 27, and Tony Donnelle Glover Jr., 24, were both arrested by Killeen police Tuesday afternoon after a vehicle chase that reached speeds of up to 60 mph, according to an arrest affidavit.

The chase occurred after an officer noticed a vehicle without a front license plate traveling in the 400 block of Gilmer Street in Killeen.

The vehicle initially pulled over, then sped away as the officer was exiting his car, the affidavit stated.

During the chase the vehicle, driven by Campbell, ran two stop signs and passed two school buses, one of which was stopped and unloading children.

A witness told police she saw a passenger in the vehicle, later identified in the affidavit as Glover, throw a black backpack out the window of the vehicle.

The vehicle came to a stop at the intersection of Carter Street and Avenue C, and Campbell exited the car and fled on foot.

Police found him at a nearby apartment building, according to the affidavit. Glover remained in the car along with a small child, identified in the affidavit as Campbell’s son.

Police said the backpack contained what they suspect was marijuana, plastic bags, a digital scale and personal documents with Glover’s name on them.

They also found a bag containing “several small bits of a white rock substance” inside the vehicle.

The results of a field test kit identified the substance as possibly cocaine, the affidavit stated.

Campbell was arraigned Thursday by Bell County Justice of the Peace Bill Cooke on a charge of possession of cocaine, less than 1 gram, and a charge of evading arrest or detention in a vehicle.

His total bail was set at $40,000.

Cooke also arraigned Glover on a charge of tampering with physical evidence.

His bail was set at $20,000.
