The Killeen Police Department is investigating a death of a 32-year-old man who was found unconscious and not breathing inside his apartment.

Officers arrived in the 100 block of West Anderson Drive after receiving a call Wednesday. Upon arrival, a co-worker said they were checking on the man since he didn’t show up to work on Tuesday and they had not heard from him, according to a news release.

When officers went inside the apartment, they located the resident with apparent trauma to his head, the release stated. Justice of the Peace Bill Cooke pronounced the victim dead at 7:14 p.m. and ordered an autopsy to be performed at the Southwestern Institute of Forensic Sciences in Dallas. Detectives are awaiting autopsy results to determine the victim’s cause of death.

The victim’s name is withheld pending the notification of next of kin.

Police are asking anyone who has information about the man’s death to call Crime Stoppers at 526-8477, go to or text BELLCO along with your tip to 274637. All information is confidential and you can remain anonymous, if your tip results in the arrest of the suspect responsible for this crime you could be eligible for a reward up to $1,000 in cash.
