A Killeen man is behind bars after he reportedly robbed a 76-year-old woman with a BB gun.
Charles Howard, 58, was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Bill Cooke on Friday on a charge of aggravated robbery, a first-degree felony.
According to an arrest affidavit, Howard walked into an unidentified business in Killeen on Wednesday, showed the woman a gun, and passed her a note that stated “give me the money.”
Howard took a green bank bag and left. The affidavit did not state how much money was in the bag.
Howard was placed in custody, and admitted to police that he handed the woman a note, and showed her a BB gun that was “in his pants.”
He also said he threw the bag of money and the gun on the roof of a building, the affidavit stated.
Howard is in Bell County Jail. His bail was set at $100,000.
The following individuals also were arraigned by Cooke on Friday.
• Katrina Michelle Jackson, on a charge of assault on a public servant.
• Laura Renee Latham, on a charge of possession of methamphetamine, less than one gram.
