BELTON — The Bell County Commissioners Court voted Monday to approve an interlocal agreement with the city of Belton for use of the city’s proposed firing range.
The agreement was made to bolster Belton’s application to the Criminal Justice Department for a grant to fund the construction of the range.
The commissioners also voted to authorize the county auditor to advertise for bids for a self-propelled rotary broom and for dense graded hot mix asphalt for the county’s Road and Bridge Department. A contract for one 6- to 8-cubic-yard dump truck was awarded to Longhorn International, which bid $76,425. A similar contract for three 12- to 14-cubic-yard dump trucks was awarded to Temple Freightliner, which bid each of the trucks at $95,639. The commissioners also approved the transfer of a patrol cruiser from the Precinct 4 constable’s office to the Bell County Sheriff’s Department.
