BELTON — Development was the overall theme of Tuesday’s City Council meeting.
The council approved a final plat for a new business, American Spincast, which will build an office south of Taylor’s Valley Road and east of Belton Landfill Road.
The council unanimously consented to change the zoning location at the intersection of 202 Lake Road and Commerce Street so a salon and spa can be built there.
The council conditionally approved a final plat for a subdivision, Liberty Valley, to be constructed on about 19 acres of land west of Connell Street and north of West Loop 121.
That agenda item was an issue at previous council meetings because of drainage and street placement issues.
In addition, the council unanimously approved the city to enter into a development agreement with Barnes Homebuilders to develop a nearby neighborhood park with sidewalks.
Another agenda item unanimously approved was a plat for about 28 acres of land for a new subdivision on the southwest corner of West Amity Road and Lark Trail.
The council rejected a request to authorize a zoning change that would permit an historic building in a residential area to be used as a business to host weddings, various meetings and paranormal investigations.
