COPPERAS COVE - The City Council voted Tuesday night to authorize additional funds to River City Engineering Ltd. for professional services related to the Eastside infrastructure improvements, or the northeast sewer line project.
The action allows City Manager Andrea Gardner to execute an addendum in the agreement to provide additional funds not to exceed $50,000 for fees to the engineering company. The additional funds are needed to purchase necessary permits, conduct surveying and acquire appraisals, among other things.
The project includes installation of a 24-inch wastewater line from U.S. Highway 190 to the Northeast Wastewater Treatment facility. The total cost of the project is $70,000, which was included in a bond issuance on Dec. 9.
In other business, employee service awards were given out at the meeting. Employees honored were Loretta Bell, Solid Waste administrative assistant for 10 years; Lee Corr, Parks and Recreation community outreach specialist for five years; and Ronnie Cummings, firefighter/emergency medical technician for five years.
Gardner also received an award for her five years of service.
Other action taken by the council included:
The award of a bid to Philpott Motors for the purchase of three police patrol cars.
Approval of the final plat of Skyline Flats, Phase 2, Section 1.
The appointment of Adam Wolf, Kathleen Wolf, Christine Luciano and Ceci Moffett to the Keep Copperas Cove Beautiful Commission.
