The downtown Killeen streetscape project is inching closer toward completion as the city begins adding some final touches.

The project to replace sidewalks, revamp streets and add landscaping, lighting, plazas and decorative crosswalks along Avenue D and C in the heart of downtown began in August 2012.

The $5.4 million project is expected to be completed during the early part of this year with a grand opening scheduled sometime in the spring.
