In five days of early voting for the Copperas Cove City Council seat runoff election, 415 voters have cast their ballots.

Marc Payne and John Hull will face off in a runoff election Tuesday, as neither candidate received a majority of the votes in the Nov. 7 general election.

Hull received 40.8 percent of the vote, while Payne earned 40.2 percent in November for the Place 6 council seat.

A third candidate, Danny Palmer, received 19 percent of the vote last month. Election ordinances require a candidate receive more than 50 percent of the votes to be elected.

The runoff election will be from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday, with polling at 201 S. Second St.

Monday saw 89 voters at the polls, 91 voted on Tuesday, 45 on Wednesday, 89 on Thursday and 101 on Friday, for a total of 415 votes cast, according to Justin Carothers, Coryell County tax assessor/collector.
