The filing period for the May 6 election of Killeen Independent School District Board of Trustees opened Wednesday.

As of 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, no filings were made for the upcoming election, school officials said.

All candidates who choose to file as a candidate for one of board’s two seats must fill out a ballot application form with Election Administrator Kirk Thomas at KISD’s central office, 200 S. WS Young Drive, and turn in the paperwork in person.

All candidates must file by Feb. 17.

KISD said it will update the Herald daily at 4 p.m. on who filed each day during the filing period.

KISD headquarter’s regular business hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Candidates must live within KISD’s boundries, which include Fort Hood, Harker Heights, Killeen and Nolanville.

The board’s two seats up for election are currently held by Board President Terry Delano and Board Member Marvin Rainwater.
