Four candidates vying for the Place 4 seat on the Killeen Independent School District board of trustees discussed their platforms and answered questions from residents during a forum Monday at the Hilton Garden Inn in Killeen.

Current Board Vice President Terry Delano, who is unopposed for his Place 5 seat, was not a part of the candidate panel.

Lan Carter, a former educator, spoke first and said she wants to pay education forward as a member of the school board.

Aya Eneli, a former attorney and mother of five, said despite a full plate, she is running because it's important to be invested in the future of the community through education.

Marvin Rainwater, who retired from Killeen ISD after 43 years with the district, said he loves the district.

"I'm a part of this community; I'm a part of this district," Rainwater said. "I simply want the honor to keep serving the district."

Retired Staff Sgt. Brockley Moore said he's volunteered in the district for years and wants to continue his service to the community.

"I'm invested in Killeen ISD," Moore said. " I'm a public servant to the kids."
