COPPERAS COVE — Staff manning mobile election ID stations in Copperas Cove did not serve a single customer at either of the two locations in the city because there were no customers.
“It’s been very slow,” said Jeana Bores, who was staffing the Coryell County Tax Office mobile election ID station. “We haven’t had anyone come in either day.”
The Texas secretary of state set up mobile election ID stations throughout the state to help voters be prepared to vote in Tuesday’s election, which was the first statewide election with photo ID requirements in effect. The other location was in the Copperas Cove Chamber of Commerce office.
Mobile election ID staff there said stations statewide assisted only four citizens in the several towns that were serviced.
