HARKER HEIGHTS — None of the candidates vying for elected positions in the city of Harker Heights has raised or spent funds since the first campaign finance report deadline April 10.

The Texas Ethics Commission requires local candidates to file two campaign finance reports, 30 days and eight days before an election.

Heights Mayor Rob Robinson previously spent $204 in printing expenses to produce campaign cards and buttons. Since then, he hasn’t spent any funds, according to the second finance report that was due Friday.

Oscar Dominguez, whose name is still on the May 10 ballot for the mayoral race despite withdrawing from the election, did not turn in a finance report.

Political newcomer David Brown, who is running for vacant Seat 4, has not spent or raised any funds during his campaign, according to his two finance reports.

Brown’s opponent, John Reider, did not turn in campaign finance reports.

Candidates who do not spend or receive $500 or more are not required to file reports, according to the Texas Ethics Commission.
