Larry Smith filed for the District 2 seat of the Killeen City Council on Thursday during the open-filing period for the May 6 city election.
Smith, a contractor, will face Debbie Nash-King, who filed for election Feb. 6.
Incumbent District 2 Councilman Richard “Dick” Young withdrew his name from the race Monday after filing for re-election Jan. 18.
The filing period for the election ends Friday.
All candidates who choose to file as a candidate for one of the council’s four district seats must fill out a ballot application form with City Secretary Dianna Barker at 101 N. College St.
The City Hall is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
