During the fifth day of early voting Friday, 287 residents cast ballots in Killeen for the city’s municipal election and the Killeen school board race.

A total of 1,460 Killeen residents voted as of Friday evening.

Early voting continues through Tuesday, with the city’s three polling sites open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

In Harker Heights, where a city council and mayoral races are being decided, 88 votes were cast Friday, bringing the total number of early voters to 437.

In the Belton mayoral race, 38 voters showed up to cast ballots on Friday, which brought the total for the first week of early voting to 87.

The Salado Independent School District election total reached 371, up from 289 on Thursday. The number of ballots cast in Salado’s mayoral and board of aldermen races climbed to 285, up from 230 on Thursday.
