Poverty rates increased in the Killeen-Temple metropolitan area as the number of working adults fell and median incomes dropped, according to the most recent U.S. Census Bureau data released this month.

Median household income in Texas dropped from $50,010 in 2010 to $49,392 in 2011, while Temple-Killeen area wages fell from $49,778 to $46,468 in 2011.
