The Fort Hood Association of Realtors announced its endorsement for mayor, along with four city council candidates in Killeen's upcoming municipal election.
The Realtors association based its recommendations on a series of questions the group posed to several of the 21 council candidates and five candidates for mayor in an interview format.
Of the 26 candidates, 16 responded, according to Michael DeHart, the association's executive officer.
The Realtors group asked candidates about the city's role in the development of the Texas A&M University-Central Texas campus, possible future airport expansion, as well as how they each see the city's role in providing quality, affordable housing.
DeHart said several at-large candidates impressed the interview panel, but since only three can be elected, the panel decided to endorse only three as it made selections:
Mayor: Dan Corbin
City Council, District 2: José Segarra
City Council, at-large: Jim Butler, Jared Foster, Mark Manning
The Realtors group did not endorse any of the candidates in the District 1 race.
Early voting continues from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday and Tuesday at Killeen City Hall and the Killeen Community Center.
