SAN ANTONIO — Skeletal remains found in a Central Texas field were identified as those of a 50-year-old woman who went missing in April from her San Antonio-area home.

Atascosa County Sheriff David Soward told the San Antonio Express-News that the death of Deborah Jean Williams is being investigated as a homicide.

Soward said Williams lived in southern Bexar County with her boyfriend and walked away after a fight with him April 27.

Soward said Atascosa County property owners found Williams’ remains on Nov. 24 on fenced-in pasture land in a rural community called Verdi, about 30 miles south of San Antonio.

He said investigators confirmed the identity through Williams’ dental records.
