House District 55 Representative Ralph Sheffield has parted ways with his district director, Harriet Brodie.

Brodie had been in place less than two months in the Temple office.

Sheffield said Monday it was an internal personnel matter. A source close to Brodie said Friday that the move came as quite a surprise.

Sheffield issued a press release Monday afternoon announcing Brodie's replacement, Tiffany Arrington Hamden.

Sheffield said Hamden brings experience, knowledge of the legislative process and enthusiasm to his Temple office.

With a background in both the House and Senate, Hamden worked as a legislative assistant for Burt Solomons (Denton) in the 78th and 79th Legislative sessions and served as the committee clerk for the Senate Committee on Health and Human Services for the 80th Legislative session.
