Section of State Highway 201 closes

Part of State Highway 201, from State Highway 195 to 200 feet west, will permanently close Tuesday. A series of detours will be in place for the duration of the project scheduled for spring 2013 completion, according to the city of Killeen.

Motorists will use the following detours:

  • To access SH 201 from southbound SH 195: take the new Reese Creek Road to intersection of SH 201 and Texas A&M University-Central Texas main entrance; turn right onto SH 201.
  • To access SH 201 from northbound SH 195: proceed past Stagecoach Road to the first highway turnaround; proceed south on SH 195; take right onto new Reese Creek Road and follow to intersection of SH 201 and Texas A&M University-Central Texas main entrance; turn right onto SH 201.
  • To access SH 201 from Stagecoach Road: turn right onto SH 195 and proceed north to first highway turnaround; proceed south on SH 195; take right onto new Reese Creek Road and follow to intersection of SH 201 and Texas A&M University-Central Texas main entrance; turn right onto SH 201.
  • To access southbound SH 195 from SH 201: use new SH 195 entrance ramp; proceed south on SH 195.
  • To access northbound SH 195 from SH 201: use new SH 195 entrance ramp; proceed south on SH 195 to first highway turnaround; proceed north on SH 195.
  • To access Stagecoach Road from SH 201: use new SH 195 entrance ramp; proceed south on SH 195 to first highway turnaround; proceed north on SH 195; turn right onto Stagecoach Road.
