A 24-year-old man admitted having a “brief sexual tryst” with a 15-year-old minor since December, according to a report filed with Coryell County on Wednesday.

The complaint was filed March 25. William Ray Ward was arraigned on a charge of sexual assault of a child on Wednesday by Justice of the Peace John Guinn.

His bond was set at $25,000, according to the arrest affidavit. The minor told police she and Ward had their first sexual encounter at a New Year’s Eve party in Cove, and she described several other sexual encounters since that time, the report stated.
