HARKER HEIGHTS — Police are investigating an early morning shooting that injured a man Wednesday.

The shooting occurred at 3:59 a.m. at a residence in the 1600 block of Inca Drive, police said Thursday.

Police responded to reports of shots fired, and found a male victim in the immediate area with a gunshot wound to his “lower extremities,” police said.

The man was taken to Scott & White Hospital in Temple. Officials said his condition was “undetermined.”

Police said more details about the shooting would be released later.

In late July, police responded to two shootings within a week, one in the 400 block of South Juanita Drive on July 25, and an assault and shooting in South Harker Heights on July 28. Police arrested suspects in both cases.

Police are asking anyone with information about this week’s shooting to call the Harker Heights Police Department at 254-953-5400.
