Pigs on the Hoof
Feral pigs on the hoof, like these trapped in Coryell County last year, can earn trappers a $5-per-head bonus in addition to the selling price under the 2013 Hog Out program. Sellers must present to the licensed buyer a certificate from the landowner stating that each animal was taken in Coryell County between Aug. 1 and March 31.
Dan Gaskins, Texas A&M AgriLife extension assistant, will provide Coryell County landowners with information and technical assistance on how to eradicate feral hogs. Based in Gatesville, Gaskins will work in a dozen counties in watersheds of the Leon and Lampasas rivers and Lake Granbury.
