BELTON — A Harker Heights High School student was indicted on an assault charge after police said he struck a teacher.

A Bell County grand jury indicted Christopher Gerard Killebrew III, 18, on a charge of assault on a public servant Wednesday.

Killeen Independent School District police were called to the school Nov. 7 in response to a report of a student striking a teacher, according to an arrest affidavit.

The teacher, who is a coach at the school, told police Killebrew said he was going to “come after” him, and ran toward him.

The teacher said Killebrew swung his arms and struck him in the elbow.

Under Texas law, teachers are considered public servants. The charge against Killebrew is a third-degree felony.
