Temple PD looking for armed suspect

Temple Police are asking for the public’s help in apprehending a man wanted for committing armed robbery at a Temple drug story early this morning.

Sgt. Brad Hunt of TPD said in a release today that at about 3:45 am, Temple Police responded to Wal-mart on the 3400 block of South 31st Street in reference to an armed subject. Wal-mart employees reported a man leaving the store with a stolen shotgun.

As officers were arriving in the area, the police department received a call of a man armed with a shotgun at the Walgreens Drug Store on the 3600 block of South 31st Street, just south of Wal-Mart. Every on-duty officer came to the area to try to

The armed man remains at-large as of Tuesday afternoon.

Temple Police released a description of the suspect, a black male, about 5 feet, 6 inches tall with a thin build, dark complexion and medium-length, afro-style haircut and no facial hair.

He was last seen wearing a dark blue basketball jersey with the no. 44 on the back and long, dark blue shorts with white sneakers.

The Temple PD General Investigations Unit is investigating several leads and encourages anyone with information regarding this case to call (254) 298-5510.
