Political forums next week in Killeen

The Killeen Branch NAACP, League of United Latin American Citizens Council 4535, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority are hosting two political forums.

Each forum is scheduled at the Killeen Community Center in room 150.

Killeen School Board, Killeen Council and Mayoral candidates will be speak from 6 to 9:30 p.m. April 11.

Candidates for Killeen at-large and Districts 1 and 2 will be at the center from 6 to 9:30 April 13.

Refreshments will be served. The public is invited to ask questions.

Bell County Dems convention April 21

Bell County Democratic Party Convention will be April 21 at the Belton Independent School District auditorium, 400 N. Wall St., Belton.

Democrats will elect delegates to attend the 2012 State Democratic Convention and vote on resolutions.

Attendees must be a registered voter and must bring their voter registration certificate (new or expired).

Chapter collects items for style show

The planning committee of the Chisholm Trail Chapter of the American Business Women's Association is gathering donations for the 17th annual Style Show and Benefit Luncheon May 10 in the Blue Heron Room of Tenroc Ranch.

This year, Susan Marie's, Howling Wolffe and Christy's of Salado will feature their new fashions for the spring.

Also part of the style show are the large raffles. Raffle tickets may be purchased in advance for those unable to attend. There also will be many silent auction items for attendees to bid on as well.

Tickets for the style show are $25 and available at Christy's, Howling Wolffe and Susan Marie's.
