Six Belton men have been charged with raping a 15-year-old girl.

Arraigned Thursday on sexual assault charges were: Ivan Crumbliss, 18; Daniel Chaney, 19; Bradley Moffett, 21; Jonathan Medina, 20; Johnny Ray Embers Jr., 22; and Christopher Alexander Smith, 20.

The suspects are in the Bell County Jail. Bond for each man was set at $150,000.

Belton police arrested the men between 11 p.m. Wednesday and 1 a.m. Thursday, said investigator David Jessup of the Belton Police Department.

"Our department dealt with some of them for minor stuff (before) ... minor compared to this," Jessup said.

Jessup said the victim, whose name wasn't released, didn't know any of the suspects.

"She gave statements saying she had sexual intercourse with these men," Jessup said. "It was against her will."

The rape occurred Aug. 31 in a south Belton apartment not belonging to any of the accused men or the victim, Jessup said. The victim was not physically injured.

The victim is "protected," Jessup said, adding that the family is happy about the arrests.

Since the incident, Belton investigators identified suspects, interviewed witnesses and screened the case with the Bell County District Attorney's office before executing the felony arrest warrants this week.
