HARKER HEIGHTS – The City Council will make a decision about its extraterritorial jurisdiction at a 3 p.m. special meeting today.
In what is normally a workshop time, council members will discuss and make a decision about the city's ETJ.
The City Council will consider a resolution agreeing in principle to an adjustment of future ETJ between Harker Heights and Belton.
Belton, which also is annexing, approached Harker Heights with a proposal for the City Council to review, said Steve Carpenter, Harker Heights city manager.
The City Council also will receive an update about an ordinance Nolanville's City Council passed on Dec. 9 about Nolanville's population and how it affects Nolanville's ETJ, Carpenter said.
The council will meet in an executive session with City Attorney Burk Roberts to discuss the matter, Carpenter said.
During its workshop, the City Council will receive presentations on the following:
The new irrigation requirements approved by the Texas House of Represen-tatives.
The standard of regulating wind energy systems.
The engineering report of the Indian Trail reconstruction and 18-inch water main.
Harker Heights City Council meets in the Kitty Young Council Chamber at 305 Miller's Crossing.
