BELTON – A Bell County grand jury Wednesday indicted a 24-year-old Killeen man accused of raping and kidnapping a local woman.

Tavarus Dewayne Curb was indicted on April 3 charges of aggravated kidnapping and aggravated sexual assault.

According to the arrest affidavit, the 21-year-old victim and Curb met at a convenience store where the defendant gave the victim his telephone number and told her his name was Brandon.

The two agreed to go on a date.

Curb picked the woman up at her home and told her that he needed to go back by his house to pick something up. When they arrived at his house on Wales Drive in Killeen, the defendant asked the victim to come inside with him, court documents stated.

"(Once inside), he gave her something to drink which made her sick almost immediately," First Assistant District Attorney Murff Bledsoe said. "She became incapacitated."

The affidavit states that Curb got the victim's clothes off and then tied her up to a chair using packing tape, cords and duct tape and put her in a closet.

Over the course of the next 18 hours, Curb raped the woman "in every possible way," Bledsoe said.

After awhile, Curb left his home, leaving the victim tied, gagged and strapped to a chair in the closet. The woman managed to free herself. She broke a window and crawled out onto a patio roof and jumped to the ground, court documents state.

The police arrived; while the victim showed officers which house she had come from, Curb arrived. The defendant gave the police consent to search his house, the affidavit stated.

Police officers searched his house and found the closet where the victim reported being bound as well the cords, tape and other items used in the sexual assault, court documents stated.

The affidavit also stated that a hand-held camcorder was discovered that showed the victim, with tape over her face and head, and the defendant forcing her to perform sexual acts.
