BELTON A Bell County grand jury Wednesday indicted a 24-year-old Killeen man accused of fatally shooting a Killeen man in the face.

Gabriel Brandice Gordon was indicted on a Dec. 21, 2003, charge of murder.

According to First Assistant District Attorney Murff Bledsoe, the shooting occurred in Killeen on Twin Creek Drive.

A discussion turned into an argument at a convenience store, Bledsoe said.

Five individuals then piled into a car owned by Jerome Michael Young, including victim Andre Chuck, who was in the back seat, and drove off. The other vehicle, owned by Gordon, followed the victim and his friends as they were traveling along Twin Creek.

The affidavit states that Gordon and another unidentified individual pulled up alongside the vehicle and fired multiple gunshots at the car. One bullet hit Chuck in the face.

Young used his cell phone and called 911, giving the dispatch a description of the vehicle and the license plate number.

According to the affidavit, Chuck was taken to Darnall Army Community Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

Young identified Gordon to the Killeen police through a photospread.

For nearly 1 years, Gordon has been in the Bell County Jail waiting to be indicted. Bledsoe said the wait had to do with Gordons attorney trying to negotiate on behalf of other charges in other jurisdictions.
