The Fort Hood soldier suspected of stabbing a Copperas Cove man was arrested by the Denton Police Department early Tuesday morning.
Copperas Cove police received word from DPD that they arrested Michael Curtis Blair, 28, of Fort Hood, at 5:17 a.m. on an aggravated robbery warrant issued by Coryell County Justice of the Peace John Guinn.
Police believe Blair is responsible for stabbing Richard Myers, 60, numerous times, according to a Copperas Cove Police Department news release Monday.
About 11 p.m. Saturday, police were dispatched to an incident that occurred in the 800 block of Craddock Street.
Police learned that Myers was talking to Blair about borrowing a truck, and Myers refused to let Blair take it. It is reported that Blair then stabbed Myers and took the vehicle, a 2006 black, Dodge Ram truck, Texas license plate 19RFN4.
The vehicle has not been recovered.
"I am not sure how they are acquainted," Lt. Daniel Austin, CCPD spokesman, said Monday, adding that the investigation hadn't determined how well the victim knew the suspect.
Myers was transported to Scott & White Hospital in Temple via helicopter. He remains in stable condition and is cooperating with police, Austin said.
