Texas Secretary of State Phil Wilson will start a campaign to visit all Texas counties or regions at the Bell County commissioners meeting at 9 a.m. Monday at the county courthouse.

The tour is essentially a get-out-the-vote effort for the constitutional amendment election Nov. 6, when voters will decide on 16 proposed amendments.

The last day to register in time to cast a ballot is Oct. 9.

"I haven't met him in person yet. I'm looking forward to it," said County Judge Jon Burrows. "He said he's ready to start his visits now, and since we're near Austin and our regular meeting is Monday morning, it's an opportune venue.

"We'll be approving the official notice for the election for Bell County at the same time."

Wilson will appear at the Coryell County Courthouse in Gatesville at 10:30 a.m. and the Lampasas County Courthouse at 11:45 a.m.

Commissioners will also:

Consider approval of an order for a special bond election for the city of Temple and a bond election for the Holland Independent School District, both planned the same day as the constitutional election.

Consider renewal of a contract with Indigent Healthcare Solutions for data processing services.

Consider approval of an application for an annual indigent defense grant for $128,357 from the Task Force on Indigent Defense and the designation of administering officers.

Consider a report on an order of reappointment of an auditor by the district judges and receive a report from the judges of an annual order certifying the fiscal 2007-08 county auditor's budget.

Receive a report on an order from the district judges concerning court reporters' pay.
