An Ellison High School teacher accused of throwing a high-heeled shoe at a female student to quiet her was arraigned Friday.
According to an affidavit, Jacqueline Pomeroy, 44, took off her high-heeled shoe and threw it at the girl's face during a French II class on Monday.
The woman threw the shoe to make the girl stop talking, the affidavit stated.
The shoe caused bleeding, bruising and abrasions on the girl's lip. The girl was treated at the school nurse's office.
Pomeroy was placed on paid administrative leave, pending the outcome of a Killeen Police Department investigation, said Leslie Gilmore, Killeen Independent School District public information officer.
Steve Cooke, KISD executive director for personnel services, said he was unable to provide information on any specific teacher.
Justice of the Peace Bill Cooke set Pomeroy's bond at $2,500 on a misdemeanor charge of assault with bodily injury.
