Six people were hospitalized with minor injuries after an accident Friday caused a Copperas Cove Independent School District bus to flip over onto its roof, a school official said.

The bus, which is used to transport the district’s special-needs and handicapped students, was traveling north on Farm-to-Market 116 at the time of the accident.

According to a preliminary police investigation, a vehicle failed to yield at a stop sign and hit the bus at the intersection of FM 116 and State Highway 9, Cove ISD spokeswoman Olga Peña said.

The bus rolled, landing on its roof.

The bus driver, three students and a bus attendant were transported to Metroplex Hospital with nonlife-threatening injuries, Peña said. The driver of the other vehicle, a woman, also was taken to the hospital.

Since when do we "yield" at "stop" signs? That's probably what caused the wreck the driver yielded instead of stopping. But then this quote is from a seemingly educated person so she must know the definition of these words...right?
