A 23-year-old Harker Heights man died at Scott & White Hospital late Friday after a motorcycle accident in Temple.

William Truitt was taken to the hospital after his motorcycle collided with a sports utility vehicle about 6:20 p.m. Friday at the intersection of Farm-to-Market 93 and South 31st Street.

Temple police said a maroon GMC SUV was traveling eastbound on FM 93. As the driver attempted to turn left on South 31st Street, a Honda motorcycle driven by Truitt that was traveling westbound on FM 93 collided with the rear quarter panel of the SUV.

Police said Truitt was wearing a helmet, and the incident remains under investigation.
