UPDATE 12:44 p.m.: Water main is fixed, and power has been restored to nearby businesses. Police say there were three children in the wreck, all under age 9. They were taken to Metroplex Hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

An SUV slammed into a utility pole and water main along the U.S. 190 access road in Killeen Thursday, spewing water into the air and temporarily knocking out power to nearby businesses.

The accident took place in the eastbound lanes of Central Texas Expressway near Trimmier Road.

Police and emergency crews are on the scene.

A witness said the driver of the SUV was a woman, and two children who were in the vehicle were taken away in ambulances.
