Killeen police have pending charges on a woman who allegedly ran a stop sign and crashed into Killeen Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery's property.

The incident occurred early Tuesday morning when the woman’s vehicle ran a stop sign at 60th Street and Lake Road, said Carroll Smith, a Killeen Police Department spokeswoman.

The car entered the park and ran over several grave sites, Smith said. Most of the grave stones were in placed in the ground and were not damaged, but two memorial benches were damaged.

“There are no charges right now, but there are charges pending,” Smith said.

Smith wouldn’t speculate on what type of charges would be filed, because police are still investigating the incident.
