Killeen police are investigating a fatal motorcycle crash on Stan Schlueter Loop.

Simon Nevarez, 37,was pronounced dead at 4:14 p.m. Saturday at Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center by the attending physician, a news release from the Killeen Police Department said.

Nevarez was driving a motorcycle that was involved in a collision about 3:30 p.m. Saturday near the intersection of Stan Schlueter Loop and Fort Hood Street.

Officers responded to a 911 call at 3:34 p.m., about the crash involving several vehicles.

The preliminary investigation revealed that a Mitsubishi Eclipse was eastbound on Stan Schlueter Loop waiting to turn left into the McDonald's parking lot when the driver of a Ford F250 traveling westbound in the inside lane stopped and motioned to the driver of the Eclipse to cross over.

The driver of the Eclipse began making the turn into the parking lot when a Honda motorcycle that was traveling in the outside westbound lane struck the Eclipse causing it to hit a Jeep Compass that was exiting the McDonald's, police said.
