A man was unconscious after he was hit by a vehicle while riding his motorcycle on U.S. Highway 190/Interstate 14 about 2 p.m. Monday.

The accident happened near the westbound Veterans Memorial Boulevard off ramp, according to Sgt. Steve Miller, a spokesman for the Harker Heights Police Department.

Initially, emergency responders said the man riding the motorcycle was conscious and breathing after the accident. A later report said he had lost consciousness, but was still breathing, Miller said.

Harker Heights police assisted the Nolanville Police Department, which is investigating the accident.
