A 5 a.m. crash on Farm-to-Market 116 north of Copperas Cove killed one man and sent another to the hospital.

Justice of the Peace John Guinn pronounced Juston Wittig, 31, of Killeen, and a Texas Department of Criminal Justice employee, dead at the scene of the wreck.

The crash occurred when Wittig was traveling northbound on F.M. 116 near Perryman Creek Road on his way to work, said Harpin Myers, a Texas Department of Public Safety spokesman.

Witting passed several cars, sideswiped one and then lost control of his vehicle, Myers said. His 2006 Saturn then veered off the road and crashed.

The driver of the other vehicle involved, David Lohman, 35, was transported to Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries to his legs.

DPS is still investigating the wreck.
