A sink hole developed on South W.S. Young Drive Tuesday afternoon, according to Killeen city spokeswoman Allison Walker.
The street will be closed from the intersections of Illinois Avenue to Arkansas Avenue. City crews are on scene assessing the situation.
“Motorists should exercise caution and use alternate routes,” the release said.
The sinkhole is about three feet wide, but city officials were unable to say just how deep it is, or how long the street will be partially closed.
“We don’t have a firm estimate yet,” Walker said.
“We’ll be sending out an update as soon as we know something for sure.”
