Texas Department of Public Safety troopers and Nolanville police were busy diverting traffic after a trailer truck was sliced in half by a train Monday morning in Nolanville.

The trailer bottomed out at the Levy Crossing Road railroad crossway in front of a trailer and truck repair facility and was rendered unable to escape a westbound train.

Dispatch received a call about the trailer about 4 a.m.

No injuries were reported. The train received minor damage and was able to leave the scene, Trooper Art Noell said.

A second trailer truck bottomed out at about 8 a.m. at the Fifth Street crossing in Nolanville.

"I was in disbelief when they came to the station and said, 'I (also) need some help,'" said Nolanville Police Chief Gary Kent.

The second truck was a moving trailer already low to the ground because of storage unit on the trailer's underbelly.

Since a tow truck was down the street dealing with the first trailer, it was used to assist with getting the second trailer truck off the tracks before a train came near, Kent said.

David Goode, owner of Goode Towing & Recovery, said it's uncommon for trailers to bottom out in the first place, yet alone two during the same morning and place.
