Beginning Thursday, there will be no access to the H-E-B shopping center from Trimmier Road at Lowes Boulevard due to construction, according to a news release issued by Allison Walker, public information officer for the city of Killeen.

The closure will last three weeks.

The H-E-B shopping center will be accessible via Bacon Ranch Road and two other access points on Trimmier Road. The center will also be accessible via Gateway Drive from Central Texas Expressway and from Florence Road.

The construction is part of the Trimmier Road widening project. When complete, Trimmier Road will have a continuous center turn lane from Jasper Drive to Elms Road and improved sidewalks and intersections.

Motorists should exercise caution while in the construction area. They should observe signage and plan alternate routes, if possible, according to the city.

The entire Trimmier project is scheduled to be substantially complete in December.
