12-year-old injured in Killeen bicycle accident

A 12-year-old boy was transported to the hospital this afternoon after a an accident with a vehicle on a local roadway.

The child was riding a bicycle on Atlas Avenue in Killeen and ran a stop sign at the intersection of Atlas and Wagon Wheel Drive, according to Killeen police.

A UPS delivery truck struck the back tire of the bike. The child was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries, and has a suspected broken leg, police said.
