Two more West Nile deaths reported

DALLAS — Two North Texas counties reported the 17th and 18th deaths in the Dallas-Fort Worth area are blamed on the West Nile virus.

First, Dallas County health officials Tuesday reported the county’s 11th victim, a north Dallas resident. The county provided no other details.

Later Tuesday, Collin County reported that northern suburban county’s first West Nile-related death. Dr. Peggy Wittie, who’s the county’s chief epidemiologist, would say only that the victim was in their 80s.
